To you, betrayed woman, if you aren’t dead by now
THE NUN OF ALUVA } I saw the video. The raw, patchy, shaky shot that would burn all the Bishops’ asses. That would do the rounds till life on the earth would end.
It wasn’t what the fumbling right palm of the naive nun did on the man’s organ that made me cringe. It was her immaculate wonder, when she held it, that burst of bliss from her human depths which sent a shiver through me. I couldn’t watch the rest of it for feeling like a party to the man’s cunning. Think for a moment about the contrast of the deepest personal flesh-wish of a 37-year-old woman, her innate thrill, her final trust in the humans, and the cold, planned betrayal by the man whose throbbing villainy stood out unzipped while his devious left arm hid a mobile camera, sucking in on every moment of the nun’s unadulterated joy.
Human desire versus devilish treachery.
But the Church had a simpler equation worked out. Expel her from the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel at Aluva, call up the news editors of Kerala’s dailies and whisper: ‘Hush, hush!’ As far as my inquiries tell me, till now, no guy with any Christian institution has been arrested under the Section 67 of the IT Act 2000 for producing porn. Nor has the nunnery paid any severance pay to the nun for her selfless service for over 20 years. Her whereabouts are still unknown.
The Archbishop Daniel Acharuparambil of Verapoly, president of the Kerala Catholic Bishops Council, was glad the Church acted ‘in an exemplary manner’.
I’m wondering on two things: one, the grunt of the convent gate as it shut behind the befouled nun’s moment in the sun. Two, what that teacher sitting under the same sun two thousand years ago, must have written in sand, if you may remember the scripture.
‘Early in the morning, he came again into the temple, and all the people were coming and he sat down to teach. The Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the centre of the court, they said: ‘Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. In the law, Moses commands us to stone such women. What do you say?’
‘They were saying this, to test him, so that they might have grounds for accusing him. But Jesus stooped down and with his finger wrote on the ground. ‘But when they persisted in asking him, he straightened up, and said to them, ‘He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.’ Again, he stooped down and kept writing on the ground. ‘When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and he was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the centre of the court.
‘Woman, where are thy accusers?’ he asked, lifting up his face. ‘Has none condemned thee?
‘She said, None, Lord.
‘Neither do I; go and sin no more.
As you read this, the Bishops and brethren sit atop, wearing gold rings to be kissed by the faithful, holding golden scepter brandishing the power of the sacred, running an ever-in-demand business, holding multitudes to ransom against their fears, unquestioned by none, served by countless unsalaried faithfuls, dowsing smartly all the scandals, guarding closely the cupboards full of skeletons (including Sister Abhaya’s), lavished by fresh apples from Australia and juicy grapes from Italy, moving in plush mobiles, busy saving the poor.
I’m still wondering if the nun turned one last time at the noise of the grating hinges of the Carmel convent’s gate, to look back at this edifice of slavery in clandestine. If the poor woman had, she’d have seen a dark and slimy creature, that is growing fatter, all from the potion of power it drinks each day in the name of that humble teacher who sat under the morning sun and looked at the hapless woman with all the love a man can muster from his heart.
To you, woman, if you still haven’t been throttled by the ‘Christians’: ‘take it on the chin and move on’, live in courage, laugh at your memories, remembering the old teacher.
To you, feminists : Go, find her, and talk to her about the real kingdom of god within human hearts.
To you, Bishop Daniel Acharuparambil : So, my dear Pharisee, what good finally came out of Nazreth?

I endorse every word of it.
Really disturbed to know that the “vocation garden” contributes about 60 percent of the country’s 120,000 sisters and priests!
May God bless them
Amen
Now I’m shivering thinking of my cousin sister who is a nun in an Italian convent. She is barely 20 yrs old. She joined the convent at the age of 15. What was the inspiration? We wondered. Because she was such a chirpy character. She smiled and said ” My father is a drunkard and i have seen my mother’s suffering. So this is the best option for me.And It will be a great relief for our poor family too.” We all admitted that was true and told her it is a wise decision. Now i suspect whether her decision was wise? Is she suffering there? Will she curse us one day for not helping her to get married ? I pray for her. I pray to Jesus who freed that woman.
It looks like a splenidid description of a tragedy. And at the end it is beautifully crafted as a message to feminists as they should go and find and help. It seems to be very queer. is it a feminist issue? whats the responsibility of a male? What about you? Are you out of this world?
dear joshua,
is feminism so much sex/gender specific(where sex and even gender is some sort of construction) ? There is a feel in the last part that you can never be a feminist and so can be relieved of all the responsibilities you think ’so called feminists’should take care of !
be a feminist youself (why cant/not you i wonder!) and be with other fellow minds to find out her and give her support to face this wreched world with courage .
Thanks for your visit and comments.
Joe, I knew you’d.
Bini, hope your cousin’s faith would finally save her.
Haridas, Sona, I understand your sense of confusion / surprise at the use of that tag, ‘feminists’. Let me explain.
Haridas, even years ago, the discourses in Kerala where the rhetoric began ‘The social responsibility of writers…’ used to make me smile and frown. If you’d halt to ponder, it might dawn on you that the very act of writing is the writer’s greatest social / moral / personal responsibility. He as a male or she as a female does what others can’t. It’s the noblest act, I believe. Because writing is also a subversive action that aims at transforming minds for their final refinement. I refused to keep quiet, unlike all the journalists in the papers you subscribe and want to, unlike all those stupendous intellectuals living around you, because I thought I’m very much alive in this world. I’m smiling, Haridas.
Coming to feminism. In the contemporary Keralan social history, feminists are the most active component in exposing unwarranted male chauvinism and acts of sexual terrorism (dragging a girl under hundreds of men who fuck her like express trains, is nothing short of terrorism). Now that we have realised that all the entities with other tags like Marxists, Socialists, Theologists, Hedonists, Anarchists, and other culture-benders, do get curled up at the alarm of ‘immoral’ causes, the remaining active inquisitors who can interact with the destitute, are indeed feminists. Hence, the call.
Sona, I’d ‘been there’ in my late teens and a few years around and matured into the understanding that a writer needs to absolve himself of association with any collective sub-conscious social-blueprint fantasies. When I was 22 or so, I found out that Feminism, like Marxism and the Judeo-Christian idea of paradise, is the fantasy of the intellectually impaired.
So, Haridas and Sona now the onus is yours. Do enlighten us upon what you two have done by now in this regard, other than posting a comment here?
I’m listening.
The beauty of the prose is such that I am melted there. For a moment I forgot the sin but remembered that glorious teacher. .
Its shocking. Shcoking because if a women involves in a relationship willingly, it is clear that it was a betrayal of the trust or faith in relationships. Its shocking becuasea very personal joy and warmth of the relationships are publisicing in this manner. Its a criminal psyche embbeded with perversion. while church decided to take action against the women, it should atleast file a case against the man involved under criminanl assualt as he was killing that women. breaching an unwritten agreement in these kinds of relationships are also a big crime. there may be ample laws and rules we can find in our law books to address it!!.
However, I don’t wonder the church or any system that ever think of the other person who involved in any of these “sins”. Quoting Bilble itself, women is the other name of sin from the time of eve..
I wonder what happen to our society. I just read an article in a malayalam women’s magazine. I was really shaken that we do not have an idea that whereever mobile camera gets in and what it clicked and publisice through net and mobile phones in next momemnt. It copies the very personal space that husband and wife shares, the romantic moments of lovers, the personal needs of women at toilets in hotels, colleges (not sure about schools), dressing rooms of textile shops, even the legs of women who climbing the buses (its climbing only, footboard of buses are so high in India)!!!. I still hope that the author was fantasised the theme according to his whims and fancies. If the 10% of the the article is sharing a line of truth or reality, it is really a sick kind of situation that we are going through. We do not have anything to trust – no ideology (ask anybody, especially the X_GEN, they all are apolitic, so far i didn’t understand the meaning of this term), not religious (but too religious – trust all the frauds), and finally how they trust their lovers of spouces, if each and every personal moments are copying and publicising like this…
In the sociological tranformation, our society is facing a major crisis not at social level, but at personal level.
I feel so sad for that lady. I really appreciate u for voicing against this publicly. It’s a breach of trust and innocent love, the depth of it can be felt only by a person who has undergone the injustice. Your writing how is it going to help her overcome her trauma since she might not even know/see this? I think it should reach her it will be the greatest peace for her to know there is someone for her too..
joshua ko gussa kyom atha he… sign of old age?
Thanks for your visit and opinions, Santosh, Resmi, S, and Pramod.
I’m sorry Resmi, I did not ‘fantasize’ this up as you can check the links and confirm. I share some of your concerns too.
S, I don’t know if this would get to her. But wish she overcomes the trauma somehow.
Santosh, Pramod,
am smiling.
The Great nun done a great job against the Male dominated Priests
Dear Josh
I have seen a lot of news regarding this case. All are criticizing the nun only. Everyone telling, she had done a wrong thing. Why is it so? You have to think one thing that, if she is a women, she’ll have all the thoughts, fantasies and all biological characters like a normal women. Then how can a society prevents her from being involving in a act. In that video, you can see that, she had breaked the barrier that she kept for last 20+ years. Most nuns are being lesbians, if they cannot broke out from their barriers.
Why no one raising their voice against that beast(man who captured the video).
You know How Sr.Abhaya murdered???????Media saying that ,she saw something wrong there in that night!!!!!!!!
If the court find some priests, guilty of murdering that sister, whether the Church will remove those people from the service………..
Some males are creating a bad image over others……
Thanks for the visit, Joseph Peter.
Amazing guys.
This is indeed something we should do to every so called ’sin’ accusation by these Pharisees. A ship of thanks to all who contributed to the above discussion and my special regards to the creator of the above blog (seems to be Josh).
The inhuman attitude of the Christendom started from the time they started burning protestants alive. This holocaust occurred at the reign of Constantine (The man who created the Roman Catholic empire).
The same men who stood at the Jerusalem temple and who were the causative factor behind crucifixation of the great Teacher are now called the RC church. The same Roman power is controlling men in the name of Jesus. They failed to control men by weapons, so in disguise of faith they are controlling the world powers.
A wonderful thing i recently understood from the Bible is – “do not hate the sinner but hate the sin”. Lets device ways to avoid such sinful ways from our lives. Let the Catholics ape the Jacobites, Protestants or many others. Their priests are married and have a successful married life.
The Bishop or the authorities of the St.Carmel convent could not take another step since the proliferation of the video was fast. Phsyco’s in India were enjoying the uncensored flesh streaming through mobile networks and internet. I have always seen this crave for sex in Indian men since its a taboo to even talk about it in open. This closed attitude towards sex is the reason behind so many crimes against women and girls in India.
I Completely agree to our Teacher – “Let the innocent stone her”. Its not her, but the womanizer who can be considered cunning and to have exploited the situation by tricking her to such acts of intimacy.
I also agree to the fact that the breech of trust from that man must have surprised her more than the act of dismissal from the convent, which was expected.
I do not think that a women will run after a man in search of lust just because of her hormones, it always follows trust and love. So lust is not something that is expressed spontaneously on a man by a lady. She first seeks trust, care, love, affection and security.
I see from the above blog that the video showed curiosity in her eyes while attending him. This can be true since a nun is some one denied from bodily pleasures. The years of curiosity upon the opposite sex must have exploded when the right chance or a favour was shown by him.
Lets hope she finds peace and a successful life where ever she is????
I Concur!
Sorry one change in my statement – The Burnings of the free/radical Christians is not officially recorded from the time of Constantine, but he converted every single soul in Roman territories to Roman Catholics, including Jews. As my friend and colleague Firoz tells -Its was the first and foremost forced catholic conversion in church history.
The burnings of free thinkers and witches occurred at many times in history
eg:http://www.bereanbeacon.org/history/persecution/sufferings_protestans_under_qn_mary.htm
Reminds me …have you heard anything on what happened to those paedophilic male priests on behalf of whom the Pope apologised..
Josh!
I am in a country where flesh trade is the way of life! That, i would say decides the economy of this land of smiles. What an irony!
Here no one forces you into this market- no betrayals; no pimps- no promises and no sermons, either!
But women are safe here. My wife, and my 10 year old daughter attend parties, visit temples, and friends too ,without the fear of being clawed in the darkness of the night(in day too).
Thrusted in saffron robes, choked inside the cassocks, suffocated in their Habits, these so called self ordained-god sent messiahs- feel their own sweat and get beastly aroused. But in the other kingdom, there is decency maintained, civilization established because there aren’t any priests to give sermons to them nor there are parents to push them to the ‘call of the lord’!
All said and done, crime is justified. No god has asked us to supress our innate feelings, our biological needs ,and our surging emotions.Man or woman, Sadhu or Swamini, nun or priest, flesh and blood is what they are made of.
Let us debate…
Thanks for your visits and opinions, Syam, Deemen, Preethi, Rajesh.
Dear All,
I am very sad on what has happened. I do not blame anybody as everything is caused by circumstances. This was very cheap on the part of the man.
Nuns are also human beings. They are also made of flesh and blood. It is time Christianity changed its view on sexuality. Sex ain’t a sin. What about letting them lead a normal life even as they are allowed to lead the life as nuns?
‘hate the sin, love the sinner’, said the old teacher.
Guess it’s human too, to panic and cover up and hush, which i see as a greater sin. Again the same teacher looks with pity to them as well, i suppose. I guess the challenge here is really to think at every step,’what would Jesus do?’
Can you please send mms of Nun and driver, Iam horney. Want to see and comments. Hurry up guys.
Atleast guide me to get her sexy pictures. Advise me the free websites where I can watch and enjoy my life. Come on … help me. Iam weak from passion like that nun !!
Thanks for your visits, Mathew, Firos, Shalini, Mia.
